Social Responsibility
Pediatric IBD Foundation
The Pediatric IBD Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that works to improve the care and development of children with inflammatory bowel disease, most commonly Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The Foundation works in conjunction with the Pediatric IBD Consortium to generate resources and studies that lead to safer, more effective treatments for patients. 5 Newton Running employees will be running the NYC Marathon on November 6, 2011 on behalf of the Foundation. Running alongside the team will be Newton’s very special friend Bo Parrish, a survivor of childhood IBD and 4 time Ironman triathlete. 100% of the funds raised from the marathon will go to research. Please join us in the journey to fundraise toward finding a cure for children with IBD.
Tri4Japan

Tri4Japan (UK registered No. 1141488) is a charity established by Mike and Rieko Trees, Newton Running's UK and Japanese distributors after the recent disaster in Japan. Mike and Rieko have close friends that were directly impacted by the disaster and established Tri4Japan to help the people of Kamaishi, a small town devastated by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami. The Trees' have devoted all of their spare time to making a difference for the survivors of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
Tri4Japan states the tsunami that hit Japan,in March 2011 created the equivalent of 27 years worth of Japanese rubbish in just a few minutes. Sadly much of this continues to sit by the road side as resources are thin. To date there are more than 22,000 people dead or missing and nearly 2,000 orphaned children in need of support.
Tri4Japan has sold T-shirts and De Soto cycle jerseys as well as organized a charity aquathlon, and charity auctions. Newton Running is honored to assist Tri4Japan in their fundraising efforts by collecting items for auction on eBay in addition to producing and donating 500 special edition Tri4Japan Distance Lightweight Trainers to the cause. The limited edition shoe will be sold in Japan the UK. All proceeds from the "Tri4Japan Newtons" will go directly to survivors of the disaster.

Newton Running is dedicating warehouse space and a washing machine for OWR to use in cleaning and storing shoes until they are ready to be delivered to their receiving country. Newton employees volunteer their time to help with the process of cleaning and sorting shoes as they arrive at the warehouse. Shoes can be dropped-off at the The Newton Running Lab, Boulder, CO. Find your local drop-off location to help those in need and to keep shoes out of our landfills.
