This is the Newton that started the revolution. The Distance V is a universal platform racer that is lightning fast and wickedly light for both neutral and stability runners. This dynamically propulsive racer offers a tighter-tuned trampoline lug membrane than compared to the Gravity V or Motion V for greater responsiveness and power (P.O.P 1+). The new seamless upper offers higher ventilation and better conformity to the foot. The new ice lugs and full flex zone accommodates the splay of the foot at the propulsion stage of the gait. Revolutionize your run with the new Distance V.

I am really pleased with the Distance V, they look great and feel fantastic, I like the minamilist feel when I run and although I prefer to race in the MV3 these are a great trainer for those long trainer runs, light and responsive One upgrade I like is that V has also improved on the sole the adding of a small extra rubber plate on the rear which should make the sole more durable for longer. The only slight negative I have is the seamless upper takes a bit of fiddling to get comfy and it is easy to lace to tight which you don't realise until running. However another great addition to the Newton family.

Why wear anything else
I have been in Newton shoes the past 5 years I have enjoyed seeing the progress of this shoe, and think the new lug design is more responsive and stable. Keep up the good work and keep on running

Just Put Them On!
I have been wearing the Distance since 2007 when I purchased my first pair at IM Arizona. Paula Newby Fraser simply said "Just put them on". Well I have never looked back, the Distance is by far the most comfortable shoe out there. I use them both on trail and road and can say I never worry about blisters and the ride just continues to get better! Thanks Newton!

Fast and firm
This is a fast, light, responsive and low shoe.
An ideal race day shoe but the Pop1+ lugs make it a very firm ride and longer distances begin to become uncomfortable. 10 miles in these and my balls (on my feet) were burning and sore. I'll be using these as a race shoe but probably 5K/10K will be ideal

Newtons never let you down!
In spite of the title, I actually had a rare material fault in my original pair from a purchase some time earlier, which gives me a chance to say how unbelievable Newton's customer service was in replacing my trainers without hesitation (easy process & sent within a week, which I needed for a race) once they reviewed the issue. Onto the performance.... Well, the obvious win is the forefoot landing, which has improved my times, posture and style - and probably added years to my running fun! More specifically with this model, it is just on the cusp of not too aggressive a design to run in endurance events. This is critical, as they have more aggressive models for different purposes, but they don't take so much of it away that you end up sinking onto your heels - which is a potential issue as you hit the back end of races. I used them last for a 70.3 in France, where there was a lot of up and downhill, and the trainers responded perfectly. I am so happy with them, and I can't switch brand now, having used Newtons for 5 years.

Sustained improvements
I'm about 20-30 miles in the Distance V and am impressed with the improvements over IV, such as fixing the tongue which moved and caused a lot of discomfort. I also feel like the POP cushioning has gotten a bit more responsive, while keeping the needed flexibility for faster-paced distance running.

5 best by far
One thing I have truley enjoyed about the 5's is the break in time, its been much shorter than previous distances. I could feel the pop under me after about 10-Miles. The new lacing adds for a snugger fit, whilst keeping the large toe box.

Great great shoes
Great shoes: the perfect combination of weight, comfort, and responsiveness, even when you can fry an egg on the pavement here in LA (like yesterday!).

The shoes speak to you, literally, as you measure your form on each stride with the sounds coming back from your footstrike. In particular, the lugs make me a faster, more efficient, more injury-resistant runner.
