exchanged for new pair of Gravity III
I love my Gravity III's but had finally worn them down and it was time to buy a new pair. Naturally, I decided to go with the latest update - "if the Gravity III's were perfect, imagine what the Gravity IV must be like", I told myself. Unfortunately, I soon discovered the padded tongue had been replaced! Now, don't get me wrong, all of the science under my foot was still there and there was some additional reinforcement over my great toe, so I decided to try and "run through it". After my second run, I remained disappointed and decided to exchange for a "new" pair of Gravity III's. At these kind of prices, the shoes should feel perfect. Hopefully, Newton Running will bring back the padded tongue for Gravity V, until then, I will need to stockpile size 13 Gravity III...please don't take mine!

Gravity IV is Awesome!
This is my 4th pair of Newton Gravity's and I wholeheartedly believe that the Gravity IV is the best version of this great shoe yet.
I love the way the tongue just "falls" into place.

Hello Better
I'm a longtime Newton fan. Running in all the Gravity and Distance versions. The version 4 Gravity is simply awesome! It has super POP and fits like a glove. I thought the three's had some heel slip and were a bit roomy in the toes. The new tongue is not a big concern but it would have been a better design in my opinion to have some fixed points or just sewn in better. It does tend to slide down and to the side. Hello Better!

The real deal.....
A great shoe. Customer support was super responsive and guided me to the right shoe. In my own use of the sizing application, it put me in the right shoe. After running a minimalist shoe, and focusing on mid-foot techniques, I'm set with Newton from here on.

Fourth Time Is the Charm
Newton Distance are my favorite running shoes ever but, for runs more than 14-16 miles I need more cushioning. That's basically the job description for the Gravs, but I tried earlier versions and they never did the trick. The Gravity IV is right on target; light and flexible enough for mid-distance fast runs with the extra cushioning for 20+ mile marathon warmup runs. I love my Gravs almost as much as the Distance and like them even more for long distance training runs.

I still love these shoes, but new tongue has issues.
I started with the Gravity III's and have worn through several pairs. The Grav IV felt very nice under my feet and just as fast and comfortable as the III's. I, like others, also have issue with the new tongue design. It seems like a good idea, but IT GAVE ME PAINFUL HOTSPOTS during my marathon. The tongue slips down to the side and was very annoying. I had to stop a few seconds and readjust. I do have to say that went on to win the overall race. I will continue to use the shoe, but with socks that protect the tip of the tongue from my foot. It's still a great shoe but the tongue design will need to be adjusted for the next model. I give 4/5 stars because I thought the Grav III's were a "5" and did not have the tongue problem.

Everything's better with the Gravity IV, except...
...for the tongue. I've run in every Gravity model, which have progressively gotten better. The IVs are very similar to the IIIs, but are a bit more refined in terms of the upper fit while maintaining essentially the same footbed. I do like the silver touches reminiscent of the original Gravity model. Although the tongue sits flat nicely, and has a slightly padded middle section, I find its lack of padding around the periphery causes occasional pinching from the laces, especially if you lace all the way up. You do feel more "connected" to the shoe with more minimal material, but from a trainer shoe I think some extra padding in the tongue would be nice to crank through the long miles (and save the minimalist tongue for the Distance models).

Love The Gravity!
Light, responsive, I feel like it gives great cushioning. Was nervous about transitioning from a traditional running shoe, but it was no problem. If you're looking for a shoe for speed workouts and race day, look no further.

still the best
love these. before converting to Newtons, I was a stability shoe wearer, but for some reason the gravity/distance work best for me, not the motion/distance s. These feel great, light, quick. worth a try. for me, nothing comes close to the Newton experience. running feels easier in these shoes, honestly.

Great Shoe
My first show was the Gravity back from 2012 and after a brief hiatus from the Gravity, to the kismet, I went back hoping that the new gravity would be great. I was not let down! Awesome shoe and it really rolls gently through the forefoot. I really missed that Newton POP, it never lets down!
