The Newton Running Distance was the platform that started the revolution. It is a universal platform racer that is lightning fast and wickedly light for both neutral and stability runners. This dynamically propulsive racer offers a tighter-tuned trampoline lug membrane than compared to the Gravity 6 or Motion 6 for greater responsiveness and power (P.O.P 1+). The new Newtonium foam cushioning system provides more responsive cushioning that is closer to the foot. Revolutionize your run with the new Distance 6.

Killer Update!
I've been a long time Newtonite, running in the Distance and Gravity for the past 4-5 years. The Distance 6 is the best shoe Newton has produced. It's fast, responsive, and fits true to size. The tongue is improved from the Distance 5 - I found the previous flat tongue to occasionally twist or shift to the side. Not so on the 6. I just ran Boston in these shoes, and they performed wonderfully. A must have for a Newtonite!

Distance 6
I am still breaking the shoe in. So my review may be biased. So far I have done speedwork, tempo, and LSD runs in them. Great shoe, cushioning is great, and still have a good feeling of the ground. However, I am still a huge fan of the Mv2 and Distance Elite. Probably due to the simplicity of how the newton shoes were designed in the past. If you want a cushioned shoe, with a roomy toe box, this may be the shoe for you.

Great Racer and Track Trainer
This is my first pair of the Distance model. Primary use is racing and track/hill repeats. No complaints so far. (about 40 miles) I did some track work with them and then did #8 position of the PA Ragnar Relay (just over 23 total miles). I like this shoe so much that I may see how it works as a road trainer. (currently on 2nd pair of Fate 2) Newtons fit my foot shape very well (Fate 2, BOCO AT 1 & 2) and these actually feel the best especially in the toe box. No complaints so far.

Great responsive shoe
These replaced my well worn Disrance S IV and all my fears about support were quickly put to rest. I have completed multiple halfs and several 10-15 mile training runs with solid performance the entire run.

Great but Different from last year
This years distance is still a great shoe (still my favorite) though I noticed the upper does not stretch quite as much in this years model. The toe box and actually the overall shoe feels wider/boxier. This fits well just not quite as snug. The sole feels just as responsive but again because the shoe feels wider it has a different pop to it.

responsive and faaaaaaaast
Great update! Again, the Distance is my go-to Newton for speed work and shorter races. I have the Soldier Field 10 mile race this Sat and I can't wait to test them out there.

Now, my favorite.
My regular running shoe is a Motion 5, and I was looking for something a little lighter with lower drop and a bit more responsiveness. This new Distance model is an excellent shoe. I'm very pleased with it and will alternate with my Motion 5s periodically. I bought one of the first "Distance" models (before they were numbered), was disappointed, and stayed away from that model until now. My Distance 6 is now my favorite Newton ever. The miles just melt away. Cheers to Newton and thanks for this great step up.

Very good shoe
I like this new model a lot. They're less clunky than last year's version, and while I still prefer the Elites, they're a great training shoe.
