Winter Weather Worthy
My love affair with Newton began after losing the majority of my toenails training for my first marathon. I'd resigned myself to the no pain, no gain ethos when a shoe store salesperson encouraged me to try on Newtons. The large toe box immediately resolved my dead toenail issue. I went on to qualify for Boston wearing Newtons in my first marathon. Was it the shoes or my dedication to chips and French Onion dip recovery sessions after long runs? Fast forward to my first Chicago winter training outdoors for Boston. I loved my Gravity and Distance shoes, but they just didn't cut it on ice and snow. The Boco AT has allowed me to run 20 milers in snowy 10 degree with zero discomfort. Just two thin wool sock layers and my feet have been toasty and my stride stable.

Using Newton Shoes Since 2010
The BOCO AT have a stiffer sole for thier purpose. Although they feel smoother and comfortable than previous all terrain shoes from Newton. Here in the great state of Bavaria, Germany; these shoes are the perfect build. These shoes help me conquer it's cold and wet mountainous terrain living up the reputation of the Newton running experience

Men's BOCO AT and Kismet in the Connecticut Winter
January 26, 2015…Thrilled with my Boco AT’s – got about 50 miles on the trails before the snow here in Connecticut made them impassable…but have been alternating with a pair of new Kismets on the roads. These shoes are my second and third pair of Newtons – started with the 4-lug Gravity 2010 trainer. I am very impressed. The Bocos are extremely stable and communicate what’s under my feet. They are a real confidence-builder because they hold the trails completely – so I can focus on the run. On and off the road, the Kismets are a perfect complement – stable, kind, and with plenty of reflex and spring. And for both, they are incredibly comfortable. Newtons move me forward and will offer opportunity for years to come.

Ehh
I ran in these last summer and loved them on dry ground but as soon as I got into some wet/muddy situations it lacked the grip i needed. I love Newton road shoes and I think this shoe needs a few improvement to be a good trail shoe.

Great cushioning but insufficient traction
I'm a Newton lifer on the road so I thought I would try the new trail models. Same great Newton feel but too close to a road shoe traction-wise for going uphill on loose, dusty Southern California trails and fire roads. A slip with every step, unfortunately. But fantastic stability and cushioning on the way down.

Canadian Winter Winner
These shoes are perfect for winter running and trail running in cold weather. I've ran approx 20-30km/week during last winter and love them.

I use traction aids with them to run on ice/snow. HEnce they show little wear.

They get a bit stiff during extreme temperature (<-20C/-5F) but keep me warm and dry with good socks. I recommend these for cold/wet weather. Will use them for another season this winter!

Haven't tried them during the hot summer, cannot say if they are too hot or not...

Best All terrain Shoe
The shoe is super comfortable to walk, run or climb mountains, go through rivers, it is waterproof and very durable. The only flaw is that it breaks at the top of the fabric.

Warm Feet!!!
Winter trail running on a ranch in Montana can be kinda brutal on your feet. I wear a size 15 and switched to the Boco AT after trying a different brand of shoe. I have two issues with shoes: weight and overall size. The Boco AT (and the other 2 pair of Newton running shoes I own) are incredible. My feet stay warm with a single layer of socks and the fit/weight is perfect!
