Great shoe, tight fit!
I havent really logged any mileage in these yet to comment on how the run is. However, I feel it is worth noting that they are very tight fitting. I normally run in the distance elite size 9 which is a prefect fit with room around the toes. A size 9 in the Tri Racer was cramped and squashing my toes. Even the 9.5 is tight. I would recommend going up at least a half size on your normal size, maybe even up a full size.
The shoe looks awesome and the quality seems top notch. The fit is secure yet still easy to get on quickly during transition with the tongue and rear loops. Well thought out shoe.

My experience with the Newton Tri Racer
The Newton Tri Racer is a nice racing shoe. I currently run all my races with the Tri Racer and I must say I have never had a better experience with any of my previous racers. I have ran a sub 35min on a 10km on many occasions with the Tri Racer. People reccomend that it is build for 5km and 10km races, but I have ran at least five 21.1km races with it where I averaged about 1hour 18min.

All in all I can gladly say that I've never ran a better race with any other racing shoe than the Tri Racer and would recommend it to any one looking to run some fast times.

Quick turn-over, light, overall good shoe
I've had the Tri Racers almost 2 months now and logged nearly 400 miles on them. I have to say that my overall experience is good. Smooth ride, incredibly light allowing for a quick turnover, and makes transitioning a breeze.

That being said I would say there are two main drawbacks to the shoe. First, is that I feel as if I have a lot more heel-slip in this shoe. I've ran exclusively in Newtons since 2011 and never experienced a similar feeling. I'm guessing because of the single piece of material wrapping around the shoe with elastic laces restricts how tight and secure you can get your foot in. The second thing is that the fit seems off. I have worn an 11.5 in Newton in every model without much of a deviation, but this shoe feels so much different, and larger than normal in the toe box.

All-in-all I would have to recommend this shoe for someone looking for a short distance racer that needs the added benefit of quick transitioning. I will stick to my distance s for anything over 5k, even training sessions.

My go to shoe
This has become my number one go to show, it seems to take a 100 miles or so to break them in. I've raced several marathons, triathlons and Ironman races with this shoe.

Great-Fitting Sockless Tri Shoe
Just switched to these shoes after running in Nikes for 20 years. After three weeks of running in them, I'm convinced I made the right move. These shoes are comfortable with a solid fit in the heel and the right amount of space in the toe box. The contoured fit and the lacing system are perfect for my Sprint and Olympic tri needs.

Tri racer
In many ways, this is a good , standard Newton race shoe, light and of course responsive. Moderate 5 pod floor works well for a fast turnover. The fit fixes some problems with the MV3, slightly looser in the forefoot. I however, much prefer regular lacing for a snugger racing fit. Over all cool shoe for up to 10 or 15 k.

Very comfortable. Hard to put on.
The TRI-racers fit very well. And we're comfortable in the sprint distance triathlons I used them. The design is said to make them easier and faster to put on than a regular show, but this was not true for me. When you insert your foot, the edges roll under and you have to work your fingers around to even it back out. Also, there is a finger hole in the back but if your finger is in it, then it's more difficult to get you foot in. The loop on the front is kind of too small to grab with wet fingers. Maybe all this extra effort only takes 5-10 seconds longer, but it's annoying. I prefer to race short distances in the Distance model.

Too Tight! Small Toe Box!
I really, really wanted to like these. I got size 13 because ShoeFitr recommended that size since I wear the Distance S III in size 12.5. I contacted online Newton help and they concurred with the recommendation. Well, the sneakers were TOO SMALL! I really want a quick on/quick off sneaker with easy-to-grab pulls, speed laces so I don't need to spend extra to upgrade, bottom drainage holes, and light weight. The toe box on these kicks are WAY TOO TIGHT. No person has a foot shaped like these sneakers unless they've been crammed into tight sneakers their whole life. Newton needs bigger toe boxes, period. I find that if I have to go too large of a size to address width, then the lugs don't match my feet correctly; they're for longer/thinner feet and make it uncomfortable to wear. Also, why are there not more zero drop sneakers in the lineup? These shouldn't be the only model. Drop em all down to 0mm!
