Love the shoes, hate the new tongue!
At age 72 running 26 mile marathons, I can only wear Newtons. But this new tongue really hurt--my old sensitive skin! PLEASE, in new styles go back to the soft, padded tongue. I had to return them for an older style.

Love my Newton BUT the tongue has to GO!
Love my Newton as always! Wide toe box, new colors, 5 lugs but the thinner tongue is a disappointment when there's no padding & it slides side to side.

Same great Distance, very poor tongue design
The Distance IV is still a great shoe, but the tongue on this update is a poor design. The tongue has cut into the top of my foot causing irritation and bleeding, and the shoe feels like it moves off- center after a few miles, because the tongue is not effective in centering the foot inside of the shoe. Shoe feels okay, but doesn't seem as smooth, or fast as previous models because of the tongue. I have also had two lace holes around the tongue break.

Perfect!
I have tried other shoe brands and Newton works for how I run. Love them! Just wish there was at least one other color option for them. Oh well, I'll keep buying more neon bananas!

Newton's never fail!
This is my 3rd pair of Newton Distance shoes and I absolutely love the new model. They have the classic 4 lug component and they fit like a dream; very similar to the previous models, but with a slightly different look. One difference I have noticed throughout the years is the material at the bottom of the shoe that meets the ground is not nearly as wide, which is a plus, because I never felt the extra material was necessary. I don't find myself clipping my ankles as I'm pounding down the road and they look more sleek without the bulk. I am still trying to find the perfect lacing system, as my feet slide a tad, so my ankles have been sore after long runs (14+ miles), but hopefully I will be able to find the perfect fit soon. I definitely foresee many "runs" being "happy" in these shoes.

Love them!
Great shoes for all distance running. They are light weight and responsive. I can see how some people have a problem with the tongue as it is very thin. For me, I don't tie the laces too tight, and I don't have any problem with the shoes staying on or the laces digging into the tops of my feet. The performance of the shoes are awesome. Also, the bright neon color is really eye catching and stands out. I've gotten many compliments.

Classic Newton feel in an updated package
I've been running in Newtons since 2009 and the Distsnce was my shoe of choice then. The last few years, I honestly didn't love the updates that were done, starting with the 2013 one that was too narrow in the toe box and the 2014 the first five lug one which felt way too soft. The Distance iv gets back to what I loved about the pre-2013 models. Firm, responsive, roomy toe box, open mesh upper. Even the lime green color goes back to the early models. This is my second pair of these and I LOVE them! PR in 70.3 and full Ironman this year in them. Thank you??

My favourite shoes, I can't wait to wear them on my long runs and on uphill sessions. Very lightweight shoe ,but yet landing feels very smooth. After many years of running and getting injured, I found pair of shoes that helps me run with the correct technique ,that is forefoot. The five lugs help so that you make use of your toe as efficiently as possible. Thanks Newton ,you have made me love running!

Saved my running!
I had already started thinking...this is just what happens after years of running....constant foot pain. I had just about given up when it was suggested that I try a pair of Newtons. These shoes saved my running and have renewed my love for competition. No more pain....means faster times!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
