Born in Boulder, Colorado, the BOCO AT II brings you a piece of the Colorado Mountains wherever your run takes you. The light and level 3mm drop, and multi-directional lugs, will keep you rocking out on even the rockiest of trails. While the landscape may change, the familiar Newton feeling remains the same. Rain, snow, hail and spilled coffee are no match for the durable all-weather upper. It is time to take your Newtons over the river and through the woods.

Love the fit and stability while running trails in Utah & Arizona. The only negative is that the tongue can sometimes slip and become a little uncomfortable

blister free
I wore these for a hike I did. we were averaging 15 miles/day, and I was one of the few people in my group to not get a blister. they are light, they provide the right amount of ankle support and they are very breathable. the tread on the bottom is great for the trails, but wasn't too much when we hit pavement.
I don't normally right reviews, but I had to for these. they are that great!

Only trail shoes I'll run in!
I've been in Newtons for 7 years - got my first trail shoe (Newton Terra Momentus) in 2013 and wore them for the very first time on my first 50k trail run (I know, everyone told me I was crazy to wear brand new shoes for 31 miles but I trust Newtons!). Loved the experience and had none of the 'new shoe' troubles people warn about! Later that year I upgraded to the first version of the BOCO AT (the pink ones) and am still in awe of how long they lasted and how many adventures I had in them. I finally admitted it was time to move on and upgraded to the BOCA AT II a few weeks ago. This past weekend they went out on their maiden voyage and didn't disappoint. From my adventure this weekend, here are the 3 main reasons I won't wear anything else (in this case on the trail, but same applies on the road)...
1 - I can take my Newtons out for 26 miles without ever needing a 'break-in' period
2 - I can run through a river (this past weekend it was so deep we were actually swimming across the river) and I never worried about my shoes being sloshy ... yes, they were wet but the water drained quickly and I never felt like I was running in wet shoes
3 - It was 5-6 miles before we found another water source where we could actually get all the river-bed grit and mud washed out of our shoes. Even with wet, muddy, grit-filled shoes - not one blister or hotspot throughout the entire 26 miles!
Love and trust my Newtons for all my running adventures and am very happy to have added these to my collection!

Love my BOCO AT ll shoes ??
I started running in Newton shoes in 2007 and have never looked back...probably because I'm too busy running!! They have taken me on many journeys from weekly training runs to running events all over. Just ran my first Ultra in May in my BOCO AT ll shoes. Best long run ever!! My latest pair arrived in the mail and it was like putting on old friends...no breaking in time at all!! If you like to run all terrain like me, you will love these!!! I wore an older pair and walked all over Europe for a month. They were perfect!! Good luck and happy trails!! You can't finish if you don't start ??????

Best Trail Version yet
I live in the High Sierra desert above Reno and so my trails are rough and rocky and steep, but not a lot of roots and technical stuff. For me the Boco AT smooths out the rocks, is light and snappy on the trails and keeps my feet happy for miles and miles. I wear on bad weather days too on the road (where the trail is actually that slim line of dirt next to the road) and I love how they respond. Just enough cushion for keeping pace, but not too much to feel like overkill. I've taken most of my ultra miles off road and this shoe is my new best friend. Size is true. Actually, across the board Newton has mastered the size and I have been happy in ordering the size I always where which is kudos to the company for keeping what works. Love this shoe! Happy Trails!

Great for off-road
Because of enthousiastic reactions from my husband, who is wearing Newton Boco AT's for several years now, I got my first Newton shoes at the beginning of last year (after injury problems). I started off with the Kismet and loved them right from the start. Light on your feet, compact feel and so much more feeling with the surface you're running on than with the popular brands (those type of shoes tend to disconnect you from the surface). The good thing is that right from the start running with the Kismets I am now free from shin splints which I had for decades!
But, I still needed a trail shoe. So last month I bought my first BOCO's (AT II). Very pleased with them. The obvious advantages are: no sand in my shoes while running on loose sand, with lots of grip and much drier feet in wet conditions. But most impressive is the stability and the "feet"back you get from your Boco's when running on uneven terrain. You can react much quicker compared to other shoes where you get cushioned with a lot of foam, thus preventing ankle injuries.
