The Ironman Elite is by far the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. From the first time I put it on I realized my ankle felt so much more stable. It was unbelievable to me that a shoe that light gave so much control. I have other shoes from Newton that are superior to any other brand but the Ironman Elite tops them all. I recently completed my first 1/2 marathon and did not have any pain. I love these shoes so much I actually called Newton to ask if they were ever going to stop making them because I have never had a shoe that fit so perfectly and performed so well.
I have been wearing Newtons since 2008 and have tried all models. This by far is the best shoe I've had from Newton. I am on my third pair since it has come out. The shoe is very light but still offers cushioning. The shoe at the top conforms to your foot. No seams on the shoe means no issues. It is also very well ventilated so good for hot weather. Two thumbs up!
I am not a competitive runner, but I was able to run 4 official marathons in 1year and 2 "unofficial" 34 mile races in one year with these shoes. I truly believe I thoroughly enjoyed every step, as well as injury free, because of Newton shoes. I do try on new and different brands, but I buy Newtons.
I have 3 different series of Newton shoes - this one, by far, is the best for long runs. It's the lightest of all, supports and hugs your feet softly - and has the most natural feel, as if you are not wearing running shoes at all during your runs.
I love my Women's Ironman Elite shoes. It took a few runs to get adjust to a new sneaker, I usually run in Brooks, however these are my go to pair now and I just finished my 1st 1/2 marathon in them with no blistering or any sort of pain whatsoever! The run true to size and I highly recommend!
I love these shoes. I am a tough customer when it comes to running shoes--I've tried Altras, Nike, Adidas, etc. I have a narrow foot, high arches, and I'm a supinator. Yet I still love the feel of an incredibly minimalist shoe. This shoe is ultra light, just supportive enough, and it's really helped my form. I told people once I ran in them a few times that I couldn't help but go faster! :) I'm an occasional runner rather than an everyday one- I am currently training for a half marathon but I normally run about 15-30 km per week.
It's a great shoe. I really like that it's lightweight and very comfortable. I mainly use this shoe to run short distance and for my daily workouts. The only thing I noticed on my last half, was a little discomfort when I hit the seventh mile. Personally, I feel like it needs more cushion.
First, let me say I am a long time Newtonitte.I prefer the old school style with 4 lugs, that said, I am surprised how the same shoe, neutral in my case can feel so different from pair to pair. This is my first Ironman models and they feel different than the regular Distance models. Some feel stiffer while other feels cushier. I also purchased my first pair of BOCOs for trail running. Flat soles are different after more than a decade of lugs but necessary imo for trails. My only dislike is the toe box feels significantly wider that typical Newtons which is not great on trails. Thanks for asking my opinion!
