Action/Reaction TechnologyTM

The magic powering Newton Running shoes is the revolutionary full foot Action/Reaction TechnologyTM system. The lugs on the sole compress and rebound as you move through each stride, creating a responsive, trampoline-like cushioning system that provides greater impact absorption, quicker bounce-back, and less energy loss than traditional foam-core running shoes.

White and Blue Men’s Distance 10

The new Men’s Distance 10 (white with blue trim) is 1st gorgeous and second super light, yet sturdy and extremely fast. I feel like I’m running on cotton these shoes.   I actually bought 2 pair. One for race day and one to wear normally.

We're going for distance, We're going for speed

It's the the same old newton distance. Compared to the distance 8 (my previous pair), the upper does feel more secure. It really comes down to how long the lugs hold out. I'm typically pretty rough on my distances when I use them for heavy trails on occasion, so maybe I'm an exception, but the lugs do tend to wear out sooner than expected. Still able to get a good 400-500 miles out of them generally before the worn lugs drastically change the feel of the shoe. Not sure if they changed their material, but if they could just get the lugs to last longer it really would be the perfect shoe. To be clear, I haven't put enough miles in this pair yet to tell. Regardless, 4-5 pairs of newton shoes and haven't turned back. Definitely a safe bet.

P.S. They did seem to break in faster than previous pairs (i.e. no numb feet for first 20 miles), so that's good.
