What Our Runners Think
My go to running shoe. Over 10 years now and won’t use any other brand.
Ran all iterations of the Elite since they came out; must have run through more than 10 pairs of them. Been on other brands' (super/carbon) shoes as well. While those shoes have their place, nothing beats the feeling in this original four-lug design! It is very light, but somehow it feels sufficiently cushioned (before you ask: I am a tall & heavy runner). I ran everything in them, from easy training runs, marathons and ultra-marathons, to a number of Ironman marathons. This shoe handles them all ("one shoe to rule them all" ...). Only, really minor thing - it is a road running shoe (for its lug construction) and less/not suited for trail/gravel. Please, Newton, never stop making this!
Flat and fast with a nice spring in the step. The bars on the soles are a great feature
I love the Elite so far, a little different feel from the 5-lug but great classic Distance feel. I’ll be interested to see how it wears compared to Distance and Distance Plus
The 4 lug will spread your metatarsals instead of squeeze them where your neuroma sits. I have ran pain free for years and I am on my 4 pair
