Men's BOCO AT 3

* Required Fields

Born in Boulder, Colorado, the BOCO AT 3 brings you a piece of the Colorado Mountains wherever your run takes you. The light and level 3mm drop, and multi-directional lugs, will keep you rocking out on even the rockiest of trails. While the landscape may change, the familiar Newton feeling remains the same. Rain, snow and hail are no match for the durable all-weather upper, which might we add is more breathable now! It's time to take your Newtons over the river and through the woods.

Great product
I have been using this shoe for about 3 weeks and it exceeded my expectation . I have used both Hoka and Salmon for my trail runs and BOCO AT 3 topped them all in terms of fit, great toe box width , perfect ground grip and general comfort. I am currently training for a trail 50 K race and it will certainly be the shoe that I will pick for the race .

Great shoe, but the Gore-Tex ruins it
I love Newton shoes. the Fate 3 is my go to road marathon/training shoe. This shoe fits similarly well: roomy, but secure toe box, solid cushioning, good trail shoe and toe bumper. lightweight. And the color! Thank you for a nice, pleasant non-neon color! Basically this is a perfect shoe but for one major flaw: it is only offered in gore-tex. Newton makes fine shoes, and they know the business, so they should know that manufacturers of trail shoes rarely, if ever, offer shoes in gore-tex (and when they do, they offer a non-gore-tex version). Runners know why: gore-tex shoes are hot, breathe poorly (compared to non-gore-tex shoes), never keep your dry (rain and snow and puddles will soak your shoes and feet, and take longer to dry). I live near Boulder and I asked the people at Newton about this. And they acknowledged all of these short-comings. About the only positive thing about gore-tex trail shoes is they are a but warmer in cold weather. Even the people at Newton said this was not a good shoe for moderate or warm temperatures. Worse still, they have discontinued their Boco Sol, and have no immediate plans to re-introduce it. I do not understand their rationale, and they could not articulate one for me. This is a truly great shoe, ruined by a gore-tex construction. I will use them on cold winter days for a bit of warmth, but they will otherwise stay in my closet. A word to Newton: please make this in a non-gore-tex version! Or bring back your Boco Sol. I cannot really recommend this shoe, unless you really like sweaty feet. Sorry, Newton.

BOCO AT 3 an amazing trail running shoe
I have been using my BOCO AT 3 for almost 3 weeks now and I have to say that Newton did an amazing job with this shoes. I use Newton Gravity for all of my road runnings and races , however , for my trail runs I used to go with HOKA. Even though they are also good shoes , I always had an issue with narrow toe box and also lack of good ground sensation. The first time I used BOCO though , I immediately understood what I was missing ; they feel very light , fit like a gloves with a great toe box room and ground grips. It is a great joy running on this shoes. I am currently training for a 50K race in March and for sure I know which shoes I will pick for the race.
It is for sure another amazing product from Newton.

Fantastic in the Snow!
Long time Newtonite here (6-7 years), yet somehow I've not run in any of trail shoes. I received these 2 days ago and the Denver weather obliged with a nice coating of ice and snow the next day. The BOCO AT 3 held up extremely well in these conditions. Very stable, very comfortable, and without sacrificing any performance. These will be my go to during snowy, icy, winter runs!
