What Makes Newton Unique?

Level Platform

Over time, many shoe designs have become thicker, softer and heavier with greater heel heights. In the spirit of making every stride better, Newton shoes feature lower heel to toe drops to put you in a more natural running position.

Action/Reaction Technology

The secret formula powering the speed of Newton Running shoes is its proprietary Action/Reaction Technology. Generated by the active movement of the lugs, it creates a responsive, trampoline-like cushioning system that provides quicker bounce-back and loses less energy than a traditional foam-core running shoe.

Full Foot Cushioning

If you love the responsive yet cushioned feel of the lugs in the forefoot, you'll be happy to find out the same technology exists in the heel. With Newton Running, you get full-foot cushioning and protection.

Great but could be perfect

Such a great durable shoe. Would be perfect if they used the much cooler more breathable upper from the old Boca Sol with awesome new AT sole.

Awesome

I wasn't prepared for the padding closer to the ball of the foot. But I've ran on them and they were awesome! I love them and will definitely buy another pair when it's time.

BOCOs are the GOAT

Newton shoes are best known for their road shoes (I run in Fates and Kismets) and those models for me are often on my feet when running on roads. But as an older runner there has been a reckoning with the miles I log and my recovery is part of the deal to continue to thrive since running is part of who I am. So, as I am spending more and more time on trails, both to keep my running itch scratched and enjoy the better recovery, I run more and more in the BOCO AT. I am convinced it is the best all-around trail shoe on the market, the benchmark for reliability as far as I am concerned. I think you are never in the slow lane when you wear any model. Am I a fan? Of course. And even though my engine is what it is, what I perceive when training or racing in Newtons is running pleasure. What I discovered after running in “conventional” Newtons continues with the BOCO AT. The BOCO AT was not my first trail shoe but it is my last trail running shoe. It is agile, not overbuilt, and packs the right balance of outsole, traction, and comfort to my running experience. In my quiver, the BOCO AT shoe brings the same Newton quality and innovation to my “go-to trail shoe” that can handle a technical trail with relentless “rooty” patches and handle a smooth buttery trail when I can accelerate a bit more and run freely. In less sunny days they are good to go, these are 4 season shoes. I do not have to acquiesce to Mother Nature’s tempestuous demands so there is always a silver lining in my running play book. I simply throw on my gaiters (and I have run in snow and slop in Virginia to be sure) and BOCOs do the business just as effectively. Great shoe to get into the wild to act like a goat and open the door to new terrains and new possibilities.
