BOCO AT 7 is different from other Newtons

Once I figured out which size works, and I got used to them, Newtons are my brand for my hard to fit feet. Special editions, Kismet, Fates.

BOCO AT 7 are different. They have beefier, stiffer construction, especially on the upper. Well, I would hope so, they are trail runners, after all. Not aggressive bottoms, but hold up well on trails.

After breaking them in, walking mostly on flats and pavement, I was wondering why they pressed down somewhat uncomfortably at the base of tops of toes.

I took to trails, and that issue was all gone. These shoes are MADE for rugged, uneven, rocky, rooty, muddy places. All the comfort I'd hoped for was there. Well done, Newton. Again!

Narrowed the footed

I've had 4 pair of Boca (5s and 6s) and have loved them. I have bunions, am female and order the men's one size down to compensate. The boca 7 even men's, has shrunk me out. The footbed and toe box have been narrowed and now causes circulation issues due to being too tight. Also the
"Weatherizing" has made it not breathable and way to hot for warm weather states and use. I'm now on the market for another brand that with be as wonderful as the 5s and 6s were.

Excellent Trail Runners

I've been a Newton runner for years, but just moved to an area with a lot of roots-and-rocks trails. The Bocas are a perfect shoe -- tough, robust soles, with the Newton feel.

The Best BOCO yet

Super comfortable and smooth ride!

BOCO in McMurdo Antarctica

Working in Polar regions gives a whole new meaning to running in austere conditions. It's been pretty cold so that limits the outside time however, the times I have been able to run the shoes have been top marks. Of course, glazed over ice is horrible, I bypass that and continue on. When more trail opens, I will get some time on volcanic rock, (think Mt Erebus contributions to the flora and fauna not actual running on Erebus) around McMurdo.
